Paul has dedicated 25 years to contract surety marketing and underwriting. He began his career in 1984, working for Bob Cave (current Chief Underwriting Officer for SureTec) at Merchants Bonding Company. In 1993, Paul left to join Universal Surety of America, where he remained through the merger with Western Surety and subsequent purchase by CNA Surety. In 2002, he was once again hired by Bob Cave as a contract underwriter in SureTec’s Austin office. He brings expertise and long-standing agency relationships to the development, underwriting and marketing of surety business in Texas and the surrounding region. His background also includes experience as an insurance agent, real estate developer and agent, mortgage banker, as well as work in both commercial and residential property, all of which reinforce his expertise as a contract underwriter.
Paul graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1972 with a Bachelors Degree in Communications/Business. He and his wife Kim have six children and ten grandchildren and make their home in Austin.
