Scott joined SureTec in 2004 as Director, Contractor Support Services where his responsibilities include the oversight of the day to day operation of the Funds Disbursement Services division and claims handling. Scott has managed the oversight on numerous claims from defaults to minor performance rumbles and is responsible for investigation of claims received for principals that are in FDS.
Prior to SureTec, Scott’s background was in the construction industry, which began in 1995 with Pulte Homes in Houston, Texas. He made the transition to commercial construction that same year and worked for a small general contractor in Houston before moving to Austin, Texas in 1997 to work for Faulkner Construction. There he met current SureTec EVP and General Counsel Steve Nelson, the CEO of Faulkner at the time. Scott completed three project‘s for Faulkner as Project Engineer and Project Manager in Austin and San Antonio before joining Project Control, a local project management firm in San Antonio as a Project Manager. Scott was one of the project managers for the construction of the AT&T Center in San Antonio where Project Control represented the San Antonio Spurs as their Construction Manager. After completion of the AT&T Center, Scott joined SAECO Electric & Utility as the General Manager, responsible for contract administration, project management and negotiations with owners, sub-contractors and suppliers.
Scott is a graduate of the University of North Texas and is a licensed Adjuster with the Texas Department of Insurance and the Florida Department of Financial Services.
Scott and his wife Lori have two children and make their home in Austin, Texas.
