Greg brings nearly 30 years of surety underwriting experience, starting in 1981 handling a five-state region for Texas American Insurance. In 1984, Greg joined Universal Surety of America (USA). He was the Senior Vice President and remained through the 1994 acquisition by Capsure Holdings and the eventual merger with Western Surety.
Greg moved to Denver in 1996 to open the Rocky Mountain regional office for USA/Western. With the purchase of USA/Western in 1997 by CNA, he was the Regional Manager/Vice President for the Small/Specialty contract unit until CNA dissolved the program in 2004. He opened a regional office for American Contractors Indemnity Company (ACIC) in 2004 and remained there, through its merger with HCC Insurance Holdings, as the Regional Director and Vice President. Greg was involved with HCC Surety’s purchase of Pioneer General Insurance Company and, in addition to the Denver office, directed the Chicago and Phoenix offices. By then, HCC’s Denver branch had grown from three to thirteen employees and boasted regional production of over $10 million.
In 2009, Greg returned to his roots, opening SureTec’s Rocky Mountain regional office as Vice President. He is a member of the Rocky Mountain Surety Association (RMSA), the National Association of Surety Bond Professionals (NASBP) and the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Colorado (PIIAC).
Greg and his wife Shirmeen have been married 25 years and have two daughters. He enjoys travel and reading.
