Barbara brings over 30 years of commercial surety experience to SureTec. She began her surety career working for a major insurance broker in Houston, Texas. She then joined Universal Surety of America (USA) in 1985 where she developed and ran its Miscellaneous Bond Department. She later became Territorial Underwriting Manager for CNA Surety where she was responsible for underwriting and managing large commercial surety accounts in a three-state region.
After leaving CNA Surety in early 2002, Barbara joined Great American Insurance Company as a Regional Manager, producing and underwriting large commercial surety bonds in a multi-state region. A year later, she went to work for Zurich North America’s Commercial Surety division producing, underwriting and managing large and small surety accounts written through agents located in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas.
Barbara joined SureTec in August, 2004 and is responsible for the development, underwriting and management of its commercial surety business in Texas, as well as providing support and resources for all its underwriting offices.
Barbara and her husband, Bob, have three girls and make their home in Houston.
