SureTec Makes Presentation to City of
Austin and Austin Energy
Project Managers, Risk Managers, and Legal Staff
(Austin, Texas) SureTec Information Systems,
Inc's President, Steve Nelson, was invited to address managers, staff and
counsel for the City of Austin and Austin Energy this week. The topic was
"Dealing with Performance & Payment Bond Sureties on Municipal Projects."
The presentation outlined the requirements for
bonds on municipal projects, authorized sureties, verification of bond
authenticity, and threshold requirements for bonds. The presentation also
addressed steps a public owner could take to avoid construction disputes or to
improve its chances for success in the event of a contractor default.
