For Immediate Release March1, 2001 (Houston, Texas) Houston based SureTec Financial Corp., announces the appointment of Steve Nelson as President of its SureTec Information Systems, Inc. subsidiary. SureTec is a financial and insurance services company, whose various operating companies are involved in underwriting the performance of contractors and subcontractors on commercial, industrial and public works construction projects. SureTec recently has been awarded a contract to administer the subcontractor surety program on Dallas Fort Worth Airport’s $ 2.5 billion, five year, Capital Development Plan. Mr. Nelson was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of Austin based Faulkner Construction Company. Steve is a former Chairman of the State Bar of Texas Construction Law Section, a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, and an Adjunct Professor of Construction Law and Construction Industry Dispute Resolution at the University of Texas at Austin School of Engineering. He has chaired the Associated General Contractors’ Texas Building Branch Legislative Committee for the past five years, and has been one of the driving forces behind design-build and similar legislation in Texas.
