Steve practiced law in
Dallas, Texas for nineteen years, most of those at Winstead Sechrest &
Minick, P. C., where he headed up their construction practice. In 1995, he became
the CEO of Faulkner Construction Company, a large construction firm
headquartered in Austin. While CEO of that company, Steve was part of
executive management and de facto General Counsel for sister
companies involved in real estate development and the mechanical, stone &
tile, road & bridge, and concrete pumping businesses. In 2001, Steve left
Faulkner to join a long-time friend and client at SureTec Insurance Company,
