Dispute Resolution and Avoidance
Construction is a risky business.
Reasonable people may disagree on design, construction, schedule, performance,
aesthetics, and many other issues. Disputes do arise.
Performance and payment bonds do not guarantee
that there will be no disputes on a construction project. The bonds typically
come into play only in the event of a substantial default, usually involving the
financial insolvency of the bonded principal.
SureTec is
committed to practices and procedures that will avoid disputes in the first
place, and bring a prompt and mutually satisfactory resolution to those that
inevitably arise.
SureTec
counsels and consults with its principals on matters involving disputes with
lower tier contractors, disputes among and between contracting parties, and
those with third parties. SureTec does not
practice law nor give legal advice, but acts as a consultant and resource in the
dispute resolution and avoidance process.
Several of SureTec’s
principals are trained, qualified, and available to act as facilitators,
arbitrators, mediators, and dispute review board members in appropriate
situations. SureTec is committed to
increasing the availability of competent, experienced, dispute resolution
professionals to offer "real time" dispute assistance to the
construction industry.
